Lewandowski Treble Powers Liga Leaders Barca to Alaves Victory
.Robert Lewandowski’s stunning 26-minute hat-trick propelled LaLiga leaders Barcelona to a decisive 3-0 victory over Alaves on Sunday, putting them three points ahead of Real Madrid.
With this performance, the Polish striker reached 10 goals in just nine league matches, solidifying his position as the top scorer in the division.
Despite Real Madrid’s earlier win against Villarreal, Barcelona easily cruised to victory at Alaves’ Mendizorroza Stadium, continuing their impressive start to the season under new coach Hansi Flick.
“I get a lot of good passes, which makes scoring easier for me,” Lewandowski shared with DAZN. “We played well from the first minute, looking to attack and score. Three goals in the first half allows us to control the game in the second.”
Barcelona dominated from the outset, securing their eighth win in nine LaLiga games. Lewandowski and winger Raphinha, both in excellent form this season, were instrumental in the victory against 12th-placed Alaves.
Raphinha had a goal disallowed for offside before delivering a well-placed free-kick that Lewandowski headed home for the opener.
Raphinha then assisted Lewandowski’s second with a precise cross, and the striker capped off his hat-trick after being set up by Eric Garcia, who had come on for the injured Ferran Torres.
At 36 years old, Lewandowski appears sharper than ever, boasting 12 goals in 11 games across all competitions. Alaves had a chance to pull one back before halftime when Toni Martinez headed in, but the goal was ruled offside due to Nahuel Tenaglia’s position in the build-up.
In the second half, Martinez hit the post after a corner, and Alaves goalkeeper Antonio Sivera made a crucial save to deny Ansu Fati, who had come on for the quiet Lamine Yamal.
Alaves had another goal disallowed when Santiago Mourino’s header was ruled offside, with the hosts flagged 11 times throughout the match, largely due to Barcelona’s high defensive line.
