54% of Ghanaians Say Standard of Living Has Improved – Global InfoAnalytics Poll

A Special Opinion Poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that a majority of Ghanaians believe their standard of living has improved over the past year.

According to the poll, 54% of voters reported an improvement in their standard of living compared to twelve months ago, while 10% said it had worsened. Meanwhile, 30% indicated no change, and 6% had no opinion.

Looking ahead, optimism about future living standards is at its highest level since polling began in January 2022. When asked about their expectations for the next twelve months, 70% of respondents expressed optimism that their standard of living would improve, marking a record high. In contrast, 16% did not expect any improvement, while 14% had no opinion.

The poll also found that 74% of Ghanaians believe the country is now headed in the right direction, a significant shift from November 2024, when only 29% held this view. At that time, 63% of voters believed the country was on the wrong track. Currently, only 16% still think Ghana is heading in the wrong direction, while 10% remain undecided.

Regionally, the Savannah Region recorded the highest percentage of voters (92%) who believe the country is on the right track. In contrast, the Ashanti and Eastern Regions had the lowest levels of confidence, with only 59% of voters in each region sharing that sentiment.

Notably, these were the same regions where President John Dramani Mahama lost to his main opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2024 presidential elections.

Survey Overview

The Special Opinion Poll was conducted between January 27 and February 16, 2025, to gauge voter sentiment on the country’s direction, presidential approval, living standards, and political party affiliations.
