2025/26 Ghana Premier League to Kick Off on Weekend of September 12

The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will kick off on the weekend of September 12, 2025, and end on the weekend of May 23/24, 2026.

The dates are in alignment with the 23rd FIFA World Cup 2026, scheduled for June 11 to July 19, 2026, ensuring that all elite domestic competitions conclude before the commencement of the global showpiece.

With Congress set for August 12, 2025, the Ghana Football Association has set the Premier League to start on time and end in May 2026, in line with the approved FIFA calendar for all Member Associations.

Premier League matches will be played on Sundays, with midweek dates reserved for outstanding fixtures, mirroring the structure of the 2024/25 season.

The GFA is committed to the effective execution of this calendar to ensure a vibrant, competitive, and well-coordinated football season across all levels. Premier League clubs and all stakeholders are to note that the 2025/26 registration window will open on Monday, June 23, and close on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in accordance with the GFA Regulations, which provide for the opening of the main registration before the commencement of each football season.

The new season presents an opportunity for champions Bibiani Gold Stars SC to defend their title, while Techiman Eleven Wonders Football Club, Swedru All Blacks United Football Club, and Hohoe United Football Club will compete in the elite division after qualifying from the Access Bank Division One League.
