She noted that the  items presented will support  and  reduce the burden on the Home whiles improving the well-being of the underprivileged children in society.

Health, Education, Girls and Women Empowerment,  Skill and Socio-Economic Development are  the thematic areas the Foundation will undertake. She said the Foundation will soon roll out reading project, volunteerism to assist the children with their homework and to teach them  as well as   educational excursions for the children of the Teshie Children’s Home, Ms Sekyiwa Darko noted.

The Proprietress of the Teshie Children’s Home,  Madam Janet Anyeley Parker who was besides herself with joy expressed appreciation to The Sekyiwa Darko Foundation for the gesture.

Mrs. Parker called on the general public to lend a supporting hand. The children were treated to good music, musical chairs and other extracurricular activities.

The Teshie Children’s Home was established in 1995. Currently with a population of over 25 children ranging from ages as young as 5 years old to 18 years of age, the Teshie Children’s Home continues to provide a homely atmosphere for orphans and deprived children who would most likely end up in the streets.

Over the years, the Teshie Children’s Home has provided free education for their children, provided vocational training to teenage mothers and assisted geriatrics to integrate more into society so they are not mentally burdened with the adoption of additional home responsibilities.
