betPawa GPL: FC Samartex grab home points, Berekum Chelsea frustrate Hearts of Oak

Baba Hamadu Musah scored a brace in either half as FC Samartex secured a 2-1 win over Real Tamale United at Nana Nsenkyire Park.

Baba Hamadu who opened the scoring in the 10th minute, added the second goal in the 68th minute to give FC Samartex their six successive home win.

The win takes FC Samartex to the 3rd spot in the standings with 20 points – one point behind leaders Aduana FC and second placed Nsoatreman FC.

At the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park at Dormaa, Accra Lions scored late to hand Aduana FC their first home defeat of the season. The Dormaa lads had gone five games without defeat and needed a win to keep hold of the top spot but Accra Lions put up a gallant display to deny them the points.

Abdul Shakun Abubakar netted in the 91st minute to silence the home crowd. Shakun took advantage of a well delivered cross to smash home the match winner – a perfect result for the visitors and a major setback for the League leaders.

In Accra- Hearts of Oak came from behind to draw 1-1 with Berekum Chelsea. The Phobians who had an impressive run over Berekum Chelsea in recent meetings went into the game looking for their fourth straight win over the Blues. Emmanuel Essien drew first blood for Berekum Chelsea in the 25th minute before Gideon Yeboah equalised for Hearts of Oak in the 71st minute mark.

Berekum Chelsea’s Lord Amoah was sent off in the 84th minute but the Blues held on for a vital away point in Accra. Berekum Chelsea are unbeaten in their last three games on the road following victories over Dreams FC and Medeama SC.

Finally on Sunday, Heart of Lions came up with yet another gusty performance to hold Nsoatreman FC to a goalless draw. The bottom placed club were reduced to 10-men in the 70th minute but that did not deter them as they fought for a point in Nsoatre.
