GPL: Gold Stars Beat Hearts of Oak to Continue Unbeaten Streak; Kotoko Held to a 1-1 Draw by Holy Stars

Bibiani Gold Stars continued their impressive unbeaten streak with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak, further solidifying their position at the top of the table.

The match, held at the University of Ghana Stadium, saw Samuel Atta Kumi score the decisive goal in the 70th minute, marking a significant milestone in Gold Stars’ campaign.

The game was tense throughout, with both teams showcasing their skills. Hearts of Oak had a golden opportunity to equalize when they were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute.

However, Hamza Issah’s shot went wide, leaving the Phobians unable to capitalize on their chance. With this victory, Gold Stars FC now boasts an unbeaten run of eight matches, accumulating 18 points out of a possible 24.

In another notable match, Nations FC delivered a commanding performance, defeating Vision FC 3-0 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Faisal Chawetey was the star of the show, netting two goals in the 24th and 59th minutes, while Richard Danso capped it off with an injury-time goal. This victory lifted Nations FC to fourth place in the league standings, demonstrating their determination to compete at the highest level.

Bechem United, however, failed to make home advantage count as they were held to a goalless draw by Karela United at Nana Gyeabour Park. The result was disappointing for Bechem, who missed the chance to secure vital points at home.
