FA Cup prize money: How much will Manchester City or Manchester United make?

Manchester City will face rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final this weekend, with the winners set to pocket a handsome reward.

Pep Guardiola’s side defeated newly-promoted Sheffield United 3-0 in the semi-finals, with Riyad Mahrez scoring a hat-trick.

City will be looking to pick up their second trophy of the season after winning a third-straight Premier League title. The club are in contention to win the Treble and are set to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final next weekend.

The Red Devils defeated Brighton on penalties in the other semi-final last month. United are also looking to win their second trophy of the season after winning the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle back in February.

Whoever wins the showdown between City and United will earn £2million. With that being said, it isn’t all doom and gloom for the runners-up, who will pocket £1m.

Both City and United have already earned well over £1m in the lead-up to this weekend’s final.

In winning their semi-final games alone, both teams earned £1m.

This year’s FA Cup final between City and United will take place on Saturday, June 3 at Wembley.

Manchester City fans may be confident heading into the game, having won three of the last five meetings with United.

Erik ten Hag’s side won the last encounter back in January, with Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scoring in a 2-1 win.

Last season’s FA Cup final was won by Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s men defeated Chelsea on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
