McDan Airlines secures commercial air carrier licence from GCAA

McDan Airlines, the aviation arm of the McDan Group, has successfully obtained a commercial air carrier license from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This significant development was underscored during a formal ceremony, wherein Mr. Daniel Acquah, the Deputy Director-General of GCAA, heralded the event as a “major leap forward” for the nation’s aviation industry.

Expressing confidence in McDan Airlines, Mr. Acquah remarked that their distinctive approach and unwavering commitment to safety and quality are poised to revolutionize the airline sector, projecting Ghana to unprecedented heights in the global aviation arena.

“McDan’s acquisition of a commercial air carrier licence signals a major leap forward in Ghana’s aviation sector”.

“We believe that their unique approach and unwavering commitment to safety and quality will revolutionise the airline industry, propelling Ghana to new heights”, he stated.

The company’s foray into the airline industry is characterized as a testament to their enduring dedication to excellence and a keen desire to contribute substantially to Ghana’s aviation landscape. Mr. McKorley conveyed his honor in receiving the commercial air carrier license and articulated the company’s eagerness to redefine air travel experiences within Ghana and beyond.

At the event, McDan Group founder Daniel McKorley, said: “We are honoured to receive the commercial air carrier licence from the GCAA. McDan’s foray into the airline industry is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and our zeal to contribute to Ghana’s aviation sector. McDan Aviation initially entered Ghana’s air travel space in February 2007 with an Air Carriers Licence (ACL) for non-scheduled air-cargo services. Over the years, the company has expanded its fleet and currently operates three private jets and a helicopter. The array of services provided by McDan Aviation spans private jet charters, helicopter services for touring, air ambulance operations, and bullion services.

Beyond core aviation services, McDan Aviation has diversified into Fixed Base Operator services, encompassing passenger handling, aircraft fueling and maintenance, aircraft handling, and ground administration services. The company’s commitment to a comprehensive travel experience is further evidenced by priority immigration services, luxury car rentals, spa services, fine dining upon request, and an array of ground-handling amenities.
