McDan Aviation Resumes Operations After Addressing Financial Obligations to GACL
McDan Aviation has officially resumed its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services, returning to full operations as of Monday, January 20, 2025.
In a statement, the private aviation company reaffirmed its commitment to delivering high-quality private jet services, pledging to maintain its focus on excellence for its clientele. The resumption of services comes after successfully resolving financial challenges with the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL).
The company expressed gratitude to GACL for its cooperation during the resolution process, highlighting the support received in meeting the necessary requirements to recommence operations.
Background of Financial Challenges
McDan Aviation’s private jet terminal at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) was closed by GACL on December 30, 2024, over a debt exceeding $3 million. The debt was attributed to unpaid land leases, rentals, and terminal charges that had accrued over time.
This latest closure is not the company’s first operational challenge. In February 2022, GACL indefinitely suspended McDan Aviation’s private jet operations at Terminal 1 of KIA due to operational breaches.
Aiming for Leadership in Private Aviation
Now back on track, McDan Aviation has expressed a strong resolve to reclaim its position as a leader in private aviation services in Ghana. With the financial challenges behind it, the company seeks to strengthen its reputation and continue offering premier services to its clients.
The resumption of operations at the FBO terminal marks a significant step forward in McDan Aviation’s journey to stability and growth in the aviation sector.
