Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns public of fake Facebook account

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has warned the public about a fake Facebook account created September 5, 2020 in the name of the Ministry.

In a disclaimer issued by the Ministry, it noted that the false account bearing the name Passport Office Ghana has about 6,074 followings and that one John Amponsah was also inviting the public to secure a Ghanaian passport in less than 7 days at an affordable price.

Also, a picture believed to be that of the said John Amponsah with unauthorised copied information from the Ministry had been published by the account in an attempt to dupe unsuspecting members of the public in both Ghana and abroad.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry through the disclaimer issued, cautioned the public not to accept requests on social media platforms from the said account and to also resist attempts by miscreants who seek to dupe them by soliciting funds to process Ghanaian passports for them.
