Mohammed Kudus stars as Hammers dampen Reds title ambition

Mohammed Kudus showcased his playmaking prowess once again in West Ham United’s recent clash with Liverpool, notching his fifth Premier League assist of the season.

The pivotal moment arrived in the 43rd minute when Kudus delivered a precise cross, setting up Jarrod Bowen’s header to break the deadlock and put the Hammers in front.

In a thrilling encounter at the London Stadium, Kudus continued to shine, providing the assist for Jarrod Bowen’s milestone 20th goal of the campaign, ensuring the match ended in a 2-2 draw between West Ham and Liverpool.

The result has further dashed the hopes of Liverpool in the title race who now sit third in the table, trailing leaders Arsenal by two points with three games remaining.

The contribution of the Black Stars attacker extends beyond assists, with the midfielder having been directly involved in 12 league goals this season, scoring seven and setting up five.

An intriguing statistic to note is that three of Kudus’ five assists have been for Jarrod Bowen, highlighting their on-field chemistry and effectiveness as a duo.

Under the guidance of manager David Moyes, Kudus has showcased his versatility by excelling in various attacking positions for West Ham, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in his debut Premier League season.

As Kudus continues to impress, his influence on West Ham’s attacking play grows, cementing his status as a key figure in the team’s quest for success.

On the international stage, Ghanaians will hope to continue seeing more of the exploits of the 23-year-old as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers approach.

Ghana will face Mali and the Central African Republic in their third and fourth round of matches as they aim to make it to their fifth World Cup.
