- First National Bank Opens Gold Coast Lounge to Redefine Private Banking in Ghana
First National Bank Ghana has opened its first Private Banking Lounge at its Airport Branch, marking a fresh push by the lender to deepen its premium banking proposition for high-value clients in Ghana.
The new facility, named the Gold Coast Lounge, is positioned as the centrepiece of the bank’s Private Banking offering, bringing together bespoke financial solutions, personalised service and lifestyle privileges for clients seeking a more exclusive banking experience.
The lounge officially opened to clients and will operate during regular branch hours on weekdays.
First National Bank said the facility reflects its commitment to delivering a banking experience that matches the ambitions, expectations and lifestyles of its private banking clients.
Head of Retail Banking at First National Bank, Akweley Laryea, said the Gold Coast Lounge is a tangible expression of the bank’s promise to put clients at the centre of every interaction, decision and solution.
She said each private banking client is assigned a dedicated Personal Private Banker who serves as a trusted financial partner, providing expert and personalised guidance based on the client’s needs and circumstances.
“Each Private Banking client is assigned a dedicated Personal Private Banker, a trusted financial partner who understands their unique circumstances and is always on hand to provide expert, personalised guidance,” she said.
According to her, the bank’s private banking proposition is designed to support clients across a range of financial decisions, including investment planning, future-focused wealth management and access to secure investment instruments.
“Whether navigating complex investment decisions or planning for the future, our clients benefit from access to secure investment instruments that provide both security and strong returns. When our most valued clients walk through our doors, they will know they are exactly where they belong,” Ms Laryea added.
The Gold Coast Lounge has been designed to provide a more discreet and elevated banking environment, with a serene reception area and fully private meeting rooms for confidential conversations.
“In the Gold Coast Lounge, our clients are welcomed into a serene, elegantly furnished reception area that immediately signals a departure from ordinary banking before being guided into intimate, fully private meeting rooms purpose-built for elevated, confidential conversations,” she said.
The bank said that its Private Banking proposition will also extend the benefits beyond the physical lounge. Private banking clients are expected to receive exclusive signature cards that unlock a wider range of banking and lifestyle benefits.
Through First National Bank’s partnership with Visa, private clients will have complimentary access to more than 100 airport lounges globally using their signature cards.
Ms Laryea said clients can access the benefit by downloading the Visa Travel Companion app and loading their First National Bank Visa debit card.
“Through our partnership with Visa, our private clients get complimentary access to over 100 airport lounges across the globe with their signature cards. By simply downloading the Visa Travel Companion app and loading their First National Bank Visa debit card, clients can seamlessly enjoy this remarkable privilege wherever their travels take them,” she noted.
She said the launch of the lounge reflects the bank’s recognition that client expectations continue to evolve, requiring financial institutions to invest not only in products but also in spaces, people and experiences.
“Our clients’ expectations evolve, and so must we. Everything we do, every enhancement, every investment in our spaces and our people, is driven by our determination to anticipate and deliver on the needs of those who trust us with their financial lives,” Ms Laryea said.
The launch comes as competition in Ghana’s premium banking market intensifies, with banks increasingly seeking to differentiate themselves through wealth advisory, lifestyle privileges, personalised service and digital convenience.
For First National Bank, the Gold Coast Lounge represents more than a new branch feature. It is a strategic signal that the bank is looking to grow its share of Ghana’s affluent and emerging affluent banking segment by combining financial advisory with a high-touch service model.
The lounge is now fully operational at the bank’s Airport Branch, with dedicated private banking teams available to serve clients.
