MTN share price falls, emerges sole loser on the GSE

Share price of MTN Ghana stocks on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) fell by 0.04 percentage points at the close of trading on Monday, June 14, 2021.

The fall in share price reflected in a Ghs 0.05 pesewas reduction in the price of MTN equities.

Share price of MTN Ghana equities at the end of trading session on Monday, was Ghs 1.20 pesewas, from the previous price of Ghs 1.25 pesewas.

Total volume and value of MTN Ghana traded shares on Monday amounted to 465,400 and Ghs 558,480 respectively.

Aside MTN Ghana, all other equities on the local bourse with the exception of Total Ghana, recorded no change in share prices at the end of Monday’s trading session.

Total Ghana, with a share price appreciation of 0.01 percent, emerged the sole gainer on the stock exchange.

The 0.01 percentage points appreciation in share price resulted in a Ghs 3.41 pesewas price for Total Ghana.

A total volume of 2,402,784 shares were traded on Monday, with the stock exchange recording a positive GSE Composite Index of 18 percentage points and a year-to-date change of 34 percent.

MTN for the first quarter of the year has been the single most traded stock on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) in both volume and value.

In terms of volume and value, MTN stocks have accounted for 86 percent and 77 percent respectively.

Per the figures available, trade volume on GSE over the first quarter period was 256,053,128, out of which MTN stocks commanded a whopping 220,114,42, while the total value of trade over the period stood at Ghs 222.6 million, with MTN stocks alone accounting for close to Ghs 171.7 million.
