MultiChoice to Offer Ghanaian DStv Subscribers Upgraded Packages at No Extra Cost from October 1

Ghanaian DStv subscribers are set to receive significant value enhancements on their packages from October 1, following a new agreement reached between the Government of Ghana and MultiChoice Africa.

Minister for Communications, Sam George, disclosed the development at a press briefing in Accra on Monday, September 29, after concluding discussions with the pay-TV operator.

According to the Minister, MultiChoice has committed to introduce what he described as an “unprecedented increased value offer only in Ghana,” granting subscribers between 33 percent and 50 percent more value at no additional cost.

“This new arrangement means Ghanaians will get more services for less,” Mr George stated. “It is a commitment by MultiChoice to respond to the concerns of subscribers in Ghana, and the offer is unmatched anywhere else in Africa.”

Under the plan, existing and new customers will be automatically upgraded to higher packages while continuing to pay their current subscription fees.

  • Pady bouquet subscribers (GH¢59) will be upgraded to the Access bouquet (GH¢99), gaining 35 extra channels, a saving of 40 percent.

  • Access bouquet subscribers (GH¢99) will be moved to the Family bouquet (GH¢190), adding 19 more channels and saving 48 percent.

  • Family bouquet subscribers (GH¢190) will be upgraded to the Compact bouquet (GH¢380), with 22 additional channels including live football, representing 50 percent savings.

  • Compact bouquet subscribers (GH¢380) will be elevated to the Compact Plus bouquet (GH¢570), with 12 extra channels, a 33 percent saving.

  • Compact Plus subscribers (GH¢570) will advance to the Premium bouquet (GH¢865), with 18 extra channels and 34 percent savings.

Premium subscribers, who already pay GH¢865, will retain their full package but will additionally be entered into a competition for a fully paid trip to watch selected English Premier League matches, subject to terms and conditions.
