The Multimedia Group Limited (MGL) has filed a formal complaint against Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, for threatening the life of its Ashanti Regional Correspondence, Erastus Asare.

The complaint made to the Ashanti Regional Police Commander against Mr Agyapong who doubles as the Chairman of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, follows calls made by the MP for the ‘serious beating’ of the journalist for his journalistic work on the recent shootings and killings of protesters at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

The media giant, in its filed complaint called for investigations into the life threatening comments made by Mr Agyapong, citing the precedent that, Mr Agyapong once made similar comments prior to the murder of investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

And further requested for the protection of its journalist, Erastus Asare.
