National Communications Authority unveils ambitious five-year strategic plan

In a pivotal moment for Ghana’s communications landscape, the National Communications Authority (NCA) has launched its comprehensive Five-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2028) in Accra, underscoring a commitment to regulatory foresight and technological adaptability.

Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, spearheading the event, emphasized the imperatives of regulatory agility in the face of disruptive technologies. Her endorsement of the strategic initiatives outlined in the plan set the tone for a concerted effort to position Ghanaian solutions competitively on the global stage.

“I am impressed with the strategies aimed at flourishing and contributing to a globally competitive and rapidly changing environment. This means we will create the enabling environment for Ghanaian solutions to compete with other global solutions,” she noted.

Dr. Joe Anokye, Director General of the NCA also speaking at the launch, pledged the Authority’s unwavering commitment to realizing the Strategic Plan, acknowledging the dynamic nature of the Electronic Communications Industry and the need for continuous innovation to grasp emerging opportunities and surmount challenges.

“The Five-Year Strategic Plan marks a significant milestone on our path to innovation, growth, and a long-lasting impact,” he said.

Board Chairman-NCA, Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II, delivering his remarks at the event, framed the launch as a pivotal milestone, echoing the prescient vision laid out by the Board in 2021. His call for stakeholder collaboration resonated, emphasizing the collective responsibility in realizing the plan’s objectives by 2028.
