FC Samartex emerged as the latest champions of the Ghana Premier League, succeeding their Western regional neighbours, Medeama SC.
The Samreboi-based club, having secured promotion to the top flight last season, have defied the odds to win the title, beating off competition from Aduana FC, Medeama SC, and Nations FC following their victory over Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday.
With 58 points from 32 games, Samartex are beyond reach with two games remaining.
They accumulated their points from 18 wins, four draws, and 10 losses, making them the third club from the Western Region to win the title, after Sekondi Hasaacas, XI Wise, and Medeama SC.
