NDC Presidential Primaries: Mahama on course to lead party in 2024

In the NDC presidential primaries race, John Dramani Mahama per the new Global InfoAnalytics poll for October 2022, is on course to lead the party in 2024.

The polls by Global InfoAnalytics continue to show Mr Mahama in a stable lead as he leads Dr Kwabena Duffour 71% to 19%, with Kojo Bonsu attracting 3% of the votes.

Dr Kwabena Duffour’s improvement in the polls suggests that people who had earlier said they intended to vote for someone else in the July polls, are now opting for him instead.

In the general elections, the poll shows that Mr Mahama continues to lead his potential rivals from the NPP – Dr Bawumia and Mr Kyeremanten – by a significant margin if the elections were held today.

The poll shows further that among voters who are likely to vote in the 2024 elections, Mr Mahama leads Dr Bawumia 62% to 33% representing a 29% lead, whereas 6% of voters prefer to vote for someone else.

In the race between Mahama and Alan Kyerematen, the former president leads Alan Kyerematen 60% to 36%,
representing a 24% lead.

The poll also shows Mahama regaining the Northern region after lagging behind in earlier polls. He continues to lead in the North East region, the home region of the vice president, according to the poll.

In the North East, Mahama leads Dr Bawumia by 53% to 45% and Alan Kyerematen by 52% to 48%.

The poll shows that the Eastern region may be slipping away from the NPP as Mahama expands his lead in the region compared to the July poll. Mahama leads Dr Bawumia 73% by 24% and Alan Kyerematen by 68% to 30%.
