New Gold gains GHS 20.50 to close last week with share price of GHS 239

At the close of trading session last Friday, January 12, 2024, New Gold (GLD) had recorded a new share price of GHS 239.

This is after the equity accumulated a total share price gain of GHS 20.50 over the week.

However, EGH, CAL and BOPP lost GHS 0.43, GHS 0.02 and GHS 0.03 to close at GHS 5.49, GHS 0.46 and GHS 21.54 respectively.

On the back this, total market capitalization of the local bourse saw a modest rise, ending the week at GHS 73.92 billion.

The week ended with a surge in total volume traded observed, with 17,413,427 shares tradedcomparedto the 5,763,167 shares traded the previous week.

Similarly, the total value traded spiked to GH¢13,570,945.39 as against GH¢8,157,247.73 last week.

Claiming the leading position in trading activities for the current week, CAL dominated the market with a traded volume of 11,744,372 shares, amounting to a value of GH¢5,357,031.69.

Trades also took place in the finance and insurance sectors, with EGH, ETI and SIC ranking among the top five traded equities for the week.

Meanwhile, the GSE-CI stood at 3,127.31 points ending the week 1.55 points lower, delivering a year to date loss of 0.09% to investors.

The GSE-FSI saw also lost 2.73 points week on week to end the week at 1,898.84 points.
