Norvanreports MD graduates as Bloomberg Fellow

Founder and Managing Director (MD) of norvanreports.com, Norvan Acquah-Hayford, has graduated as a Fellow of Bloomberg, the world-acclaimed business news outlet.

Mr Acquah-Hayford’s graduation follows the successful completion of the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa Financial Journalism Training Programme.

Mr Acquah-Hayford was part of some 88 financial journalists selected to participate in the training programme.

Delivering the keynote address at the graduation ceremony was the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who urged Bloomberg to continue building the capacity of financial journalists by continuing to invest in training programmes such as the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa (BMIA).

He further urged financial journalists that have graduated from the training programme to incorporate knowledge and expertise gained in their reportage.

Also speaking at the graduation ceremony was Cherian Thomas, Training Editor at Bloomberg News, who quipped financial journalists must always be skeptical, curious and question data to reveal truths.

The Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa (BMIA) launched in 2015, collaborates with a consortium of African journalists and business universities to develop a highly innovative, integrated, and practical world-class training programme firmly rooted in African market realities.

The BMIA Financial Journalism Training (FJT) program features top faculty from outstanding local institutions of higher learning, supplemented by Bloomberg business journalists.

Training sessions draw upon experts from the media, business, and government. Training is offered to journalists and mid-career professionals in business, government and civil society.

Participants of the programme have free access throughout the training to the comprehensive data and information available on the Bloomberg Terminal
