NSMQ 2022: PRESEC bags over GH¢ 70,000 after being crowned champions

The grand finale of the 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz came to a glorious end at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology as Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC, Legon) were crowned champions for the seventh time.

The final which was contested by Presbyterian Boys Secondary School Legon, Prempeh College and Adisadel College in what was a repeat of the 2021 final had PRESEC avenging their defeat last year by pipping Prempeh who were seeking to equal PRESEC’s record of six trophies.

With bragging rights and cash prizes up for grabs, the three schools did not show any sign of slowing down on the title as the winner was decided in the last round.

Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon (PRESEC) were rewarded a cash prize of GH¢70,000 as prize money for winning the quiz from Primetime Productions with sponsorship from the Ghana Education Service and Absa Bank. GH¢C30,000 will go to the school, GH¢20,000 to contestants and GH¢20,000 also to teachers.

First runner-up Prempeh College will receive a total of GH¢50,000 with GH¢20,000 going to the school and GH¢15,000 for contestants as well as GH¢15,000 for teachers.

Second runner up Adisadel College will take home a total of GH¢ 35,000 with GH¢15,000 going to the school and GH¢10,000 going to  contestants and GH¢10,00 to teachers as well.
