GSE: GLD Gains GH¢2.60 to Close at GH¢367.80 as MTNGH Declines to GH¢2.29

GSE: GLD Gains GH¢2.60 to Close at GH¢367.80 as MTNGH Declines to GH¢2.29

Thursday’s trading session on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) saw a notable drop in the benchmark index, the GSE Composite Index, which fell by 12.14 points, ending the day at 4,440.74 points.

Despite this dip, the year-to-date (YTD) return for the index remains strong at 41.87%. The GSE Financial Stocks Index, however, remained unchanged at 2,115.52 points, with a YTD gain of 11.25%.

In terms of individual stock performance, New Gold (GLD) gained GH¢2.60 to close at GH¢367.80, while MTN Ghana (MTNGH) lost GH¢0.01, ending at GH¢2.29.

The overall market value decreased by GH¢124.13 million, bringing the total market capitalization to GH¢92.78 billion.

Trading activity showed a significant increase in turnover, reaching GH¢10,235,437.02, an 8007.51% increase.

The session saw 194,768 shares traded across 15 different stocks. MTNGH was the most active, trading 109,032 shares.
