“The Club of My Dreams”: Bryan Mbeumo Declares As He Joins Man United from Brentford
Manchester United has officially announced the signing of forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford on a contract running until 2030, with an option for an additional year. The club confirmed the transfer on Monday, with a reported fee of £65 million ($88 million), plus potential add-ons of £6 million.
The 25-year-old Cameroon international enjoyed a standout season in 2024–25, netting 20 goals and helping Brentford secure a solid 10th-place finish in the Premier League. Only three players—Mohamed Salah (29), Alexander Isak (23), and Erling Haaland (22)—outscored him during the campaign.
Expressing his excitement about joining United, Mbeumo said, “As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams. This is a team I have admired since childhood, and I am eager to contribute to their success.”
Known for his versatility, Mbeumo excelled on the right wing and as a center forward, starting every league match last season. He joined Brentford from Ligue 2 side Troyes in 2019, making 242 appearances, scoring 70 goals, and providing 51 assists during his tenure.
United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, praised Mbeumo’s impressive record, stating, “Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional. His remarkable consistency has put him among the most productive players in England for the last three seasons.”
Mbeumo will join the team for their pre-season tour in the United States, where they will play three matches: against West Ham United on July 26 in New Jersey, Bournemouth on July 30 in Chicago, and Everton on August 3 in Atlanta. Wilcox noted that the tour will provide the perfect opportunity for Mbeumo to integrate with manager Ruben Amorim and his new teammates as they prepare for an exciting season ahead.
