Sinner Dominates Tien to Secure China Open Title

Jannik Sinner showcased his elite form with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory over American teenager Learner Tien in the final of the China Open, held at the National Tennis Centre. This triumph marks Sinner’s third title of the season and the 21st of his career, further solidifying his status as one of the top players in the game.

The world No. 2 entered the final after a grueling semifinal match against Alex de Minaur, where he battled through physical discomfort caused by a stomach bug. However, any signs of illness were absent as Sinner quickly settled into his rhythm against Tien, breaking serve in the opening game and maintaining his composure throughout the first set.

Despite being in his first ATP Tour final and aiming to become the youngest American champion since Andy Roddick in 2002, Tien put up a valiant effort. He managed to create breakpoints in the second set, but Sinner skillfully defended against them, eventually establishing a 4-2 lead.

With his powerful serve and precise groundstrokes, Sinner closed out the match decisively, becoming the second player ever to win multiple titles at the ATP 500 tournament, following in the footsteps of Novak Djokovic.
