Kotoko cannot score me even if I use the junior team – Hearts coach Samuel Boadu

Kotoko cannot score me even if I use the junior team – Hearts coach Samuel Boadu

Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu, has laid off claims that his side’s best performance in the first round was in the Super Clash against Asante Kotoko.

The Phobians who played out a blank draw with the Porcupine Warriors in the Match Day 7 fixture outstanding Ghana Premier League encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, were the better of the two sides despite not picking a win.

The statement was a rebuttal to the head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh who said the Super Clash was Hearts’ best performance this season.

“Because of the way we are playing better, it gave our opponent information that they will have to step up their game. I am sure you will all attest to the fact that they have never played like this in the league, I stand for correction,” said Dr Ogum at the post-match presser.

Responding to Prosper Narteh’s assessment of his side’s performance, Samuel Boadu thought otherwise, insisting his side’s best performance was the match against Legon Cities and that even his junior team can beat Kotoko.

“We played our best game against Legon Cities. This is not the game, Kotoko cannot score me even if I use the junior team,” Boadu said.

Hearts of Oak were presented with golden opportunities but failed to convert, with the best chance of the march falling to Obeng Jnr who saw his effort hit the post after a sumptuous play between Richard Attah and Afriyie Barnieh.

Like every coach would do, Samuel Boadu expressed worry about his side’s inability to convert their chances.

“The players played very well, the chances that we got, it’s quiet unfortunate we couldn’t score but there is a hope,” he said.

Despite not winning, Samuel Boadu expressed optimism, admitting that he can still catch up with their rivals who are 12 points clear at the top.

“All the clubs are pushing but we have to push harder to reach our destination”

“We have to understand ourselves and be united, if we are able to do that we can go on”

“Though Kotoko is a good side, no doubt about because they are on top of the table after first round. They are a good side but we are struggling but we believe that the day is still young,” he said.

The second round of the season commences this week with Hearts of Oak playing Legon Cities at the El Wak Stadium on Saturday.
