Oda Kotoku Royals secure historic qualification in to the Ghana Premier League
Oda-based club Kotoku Royals have secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League next season after a scoreless draw with Tema Youth on Sunday.
The Royals held on for 90 minutes in a game full of action and drama, becoming the 100th club to play in the league.
They needed Liberty Professionals to drop points on their trip to Susubribi and fortunately for them the game also ended in a scoreless draw.
The results meant the Eastern Region based team finished at the summit of the Zone Three table with 63 points whiles Liberty Professionals accumulated 62 points with Tema Youth coming in third with 60 points.
Kotoku Royals will be the first local team from the Eastern Region in the league since Power FC were relegated in 2007.
