Oil and Gas Industry mourns the loss of GOIL’s COO, Alex Josiah Adzew

The Ghanaian oil and gas industry has suffered a great loss with the recent passing of Mr. Alex Josiah Adzew, the Chief Operating Officer of the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL). Mr. Adzew was a distinguished leader in the industry, having played a key role in the growth and success of GOIL over the years. His contributions to the development of the sector will be sorely missed.

One of Mr. Adzew’s notable achievements was his instrumental role in the acquisition of shares in BP Ghana’s LPG plant in 2017, which helped GOIL to diversify its product offerings and improve its market position. He was also heavily involved in the company’s ongoing expansion plans, which include the construction of a new refinery in Takoradi.

Mr. Adzew was a strong advocate for sustainability and social responsibility, and he championed several initiatives to support local communities and promote environmental conservation. He oversaw several projects that aimed to improve the livelihoods of those in the company’s host communities, including the provision of clean water and sanitation facilities.

The passing of Mr. Adzew is not only a loss for GOIL but for the entire industry.
