Wilmar Africa Supports Over 3,000 Girls with Soap Products to Promote Hygienic Menstruation in Ghana

In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, celebrated under the global theme “Together for #PeriodFriendlyWorld”, Wilmar Africa, producers of Jamaa Soap and other trusted hygiene products, joined hands with Inspire Today, a leading NGO championing menstrual health in Ghana, to make a lasting impact in the lives of young girls.

This life-changing initiative took place in Lower Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region, where more than 3,000 girls received a generous donation of assorted soap and hygiene products. The gesture was not only timely but also essential in reinforcing the importance of clean and dignified menstruation among adolescent girls, many of whom face barriers in accessing basic sanitary products.

Head of Marketing at Wilmar Africa… Kwabena Nkrumah is excited about the partnership with Inspire Today. “At Wilmar Africa, we believe every girl deserves the right to manage her menstruation with confidence and dignity, cleanliness is at the heart of who we are, and through this partnership, we’re proud to support efforts that help girls maintain personal hygiene, especially during their periods.”

Inspire Today, which has reached over 54,000 girls since its inception in 2019, led the distribution exercise with a strong call to break menstrual stigma, promote healthy hygiene habits, and empower girls to stay in school and thrive—no matter the time of the month.

“Menstruation should never be a barrier to a girl’s education or well-being,” said Etornam Sey, Founder and Executive Director of Inspire Today. “Thanks to Wilmar Africa’s generous contribution, these girls are better equipped to manage their periods with pride and hygiene.”
