Verstappen’s Path to a Fourth Title: What He Needs to Do in Las Vegas

As the 2024 Formula 1 season approaches its climax, Max Verstappen is poised to secure his fourth championship amid fierce competition from Lando Norris. Following an exhilarating win in São Paulo, the stakes are high for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Here’s what Verstappen must achieve to clinch the title and how Norris can keep his hopes alive.

With three races remaining, a total of 86 points are up for grabs. Verstappen, having already claimed his third title in 2023, could potentially seal the championship in Las Vegas. A win would guarantee him an unassailable lead, regardless of Norris’s performance.

Verstappen could win the championship in Las Vegas if he takes the victory, or if Norris fails to outscore him by at least three points.

To stay in contention, Norris needs to outscore Verstappen consistently. After leaving Brazil with a 62-point deficit, he must finish ahead of Verstappen in Las Vegas to maintain his title hopes.

In the constructors’ standings, McLaren leads Ferrari by 36 points, with Red Bull close behind. The battle remains tight, with all three teams still in contention.

The potential for dramatic comebacks in F1 history highlights the unpredictability of the sport. As the Las Vegas Grand Prix approaches, fans eagerly await to see if history will repeat itself.
