Premier League: Haaland in line to defend Player of the Season award; Guardiola and Arteta lead Coach of the Year nominations
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award for the second consecutive year.
The 23-year-old Norwegian sensation is among the contenders vying for the prestigious accolade, alongside teammate Phil Foden and several other top performers.
Haaland, who made history last season by becoming the first player to win both the Player of the Season and Young Player Award, has been in scintillating form once again.
With 25 league goals to his name, he has played a pivotal role in City’s pursuit of a record fourth consecutive title.
Competing against Haaland and Foden are Arsenal midfielders Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, former City player Cole Palmer who now plays for Chelsea, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
Arteta, Guardiola & Klopp lead the nominees for EPL Manager of the Season.
Other 2 nominees are Iraola from Bournemouth and Emery from Aston Villa. All nominees except Klopp are from Spain.

Unai Emery has been recognised for transforming the fortunes of Aston Villa and taking them to the cusp of Champions League qualificatio. And Andoni Iraola is on his way to leading the Cherries to a top-half finish in an impressive debut campaign at the club.
Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo headline a hotly contested group of nominees for the Premier League’s Young Player of the Year award.
The contenders for the prestigious gong were announced on Thursday, with the Chelsea and Manchester United youngsters included after their stellar campaigns.
Palmer is the second-highest scorer in the division with 21 goals, while Mainoo has forced his way into the England squad after starring for the Red Devils.
Elsewhere, Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Phil Foden have also been named among the nominees. The pair have won the last three awards, with Foden taking home the prize in 2021 and 2022 before Haaland as recognised for his remarkable debut campaign last term.
Arsenal also have two players nominated for the award, in Bukayo Saka and William Saliba. Alexander Isak from Newcastle and Destiny Udogie from Tottenham are also in the list.
The winner of the award, determined by a combination of public vote and a Premier League panel, will be announced on May 18.
