President-Elect Mahama Expresses Confidence in Transition Process After Jubilee House Meeting

President-elect John Mahama has expressed satisfaction with assurances made by President Akufo-Addo and the government’s Transition Team to ensure a smooth transition and handover of power to the incoming NDC administration.

He made the assertion speaking to the media following a visit to the Jubilee House on the invitation of President Akufo-Addo and the inauguration of the Transition Teams of both sides.

“President Akufo-Addo has given me assurances of a smooth transition of power, and I am very happy about that. Both sides are ready and willing to work together to make the transition successful,” Mr Mahama remarked.

Discussions between the two Transition Teams at the Jubilee House were held behind closed doors.

For the incumbent government, the Transition Team includes;

  • Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare: Chief of Staff
  • Godfred Yeboah Dame: Attorney-General
  • Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu: Minister responsible for Presidential Affairs
  • Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam: Minister responsible for Finance
  • Hon. Henry Quartey: Minister responsible for the Interior
  • Hon. Dominic Nitiwul: Minister responsible for Defence
  • Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey: Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs
  • Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah: Minister responsible for Local Government
  • Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah: Minister responsible for National Security

In compliance with Section 1 (2) of the Act, the following officials are also included:

  • Dr. Callistus Mahama – Member/Secretary to the Transition Team
  • Dr. Valerie Sawyer – Member
  • Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi – Member
  • Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson – Member
  • Hon. Mahama Ayariga – Member
  • Hon. Goosie Tanoh – Member
  • Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Member

Additionally, the President-elect has appointed Edward Doe Adjaho to serve on the Transitional Advisory Council.
