President Mahama Appoints Seth Terkper as Presidential Adviser on the Economy

President John Mahama has appointed Seth Terkper, a former Finance Minister, as Presidential Adviser on the Economy.

The announcement, made on January 20, 2025, is part of a series of high-profile appointments detailed in a statement from the Presidency.

Mr. Terkper, who served as Finance Minister during President Mahama’s first administration, brings extensive expertise in managing Ghana’s economy.

His appointment is expected to bolster economic policymaking as the government seeks to address pressing fiscal and developmental challenges.

Oher notable appointments made alongside Mr Terkper include: Joyce Bawah Mogtari as Presidential Adviser and Special Aide; Stanislav Xoese Dogbe as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations; Nana Oye Bampoe Addo as Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration; Professor Francis Dodoo as Head of the National Anti-Corruption Programme; Larry Gbevlo-Lartey as Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahelian States and Shamima Muslim as Deputy Presidential Spokesperson.


President Mahama expressed confidence in the newly appointed team, underscoring their expertise and dedication to advancing the nation’s development agenda.
