President Mahama Directs Suspension of State and Public Land Transactions
President John Mahama has instructed the Lands Commission to immediately suspend all activities relating to the sale, lease, or processing of transactions involving State and Public Lands.
The directive, issued in a statement by the Secretary to the President on Friday, January 10, aims to safeguard these lands for the benefit of both current and future generations.
The statement emphasized that all ongoing and pending transactions must be paused without delay to facilitate a thorough review of the framework governing the management of State and Public Lands.
In addition, the President has requested that the Lands Commission submit a comprehensive report on all recent and ongoing transactions related to these lands to the Office of the President within 14 days.
This move is expected to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of the nation’s land resources.
