Pressure group demonstrates at BOST Office, accuses Board Chairman of misconduct

The New Ghana Social Justice Forum, a pressure group, orchestrated a demonstration at the forecourt of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) head office on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

The primary aim of the protest was to demand transparency and accountability from the Board Chairman of BOST.

During the demonstration, the President of the forum made grave allegations against the BOST Board Chair, accusing him of engaging in misconduct, specifically the improper awarding of contracts to companies registered under his name.

Furthermore, the forum asserted that BOST had incurred judgment debts amounting to a substantial $3 million.

The demonstrators voiced their demands, which included the dissolution of the board and the removal of high-ranking officials within the organization.

In response to these allegations, the Deputy Managing Director of BOST vehemently refuted the claims, characterizing them as baseless. He emphasized that the company’s financial accounts had undergone a thorough audit by the Auditor General, who found no evidence of such irregularities.

The Deputy Managing Director of BOST officially accepted the petition presented by The New Ghana Social Justice Forum, affirming the company’s commitment to addressing the matter judiciously and with full transparency.
