Prioritize mining related courses at the tertiary to reduce unemployment – CEO of Ghana Gold Expo Foundation tells Ghanaian students

The Executive Director of Ghana Gold Expo Foundation, Dr. Steven Blessing Ackah has proffered a practical solution to curbing Ghana’s youth unemployment canker.

According to the G200 Youth Ambassador for Africa, the employment rate in Ghana could drastically be reduced through startup exploration programmes for Ghanaian youth professionals.

He therefore called on Ghanaian youth to get themselves acquainted mining and can do so by involving in mining relating courses at the tertiary level.

“We cannot give out our critical Minerals resources out. This is why we need more youth in Ghana to get themselves involve with mining related courses with University of Mines and Technology – UMaT so that they can be trained and be part of early-stage discovery and work programme to identify the right resources,” he said.

Dr. Ackah emphasized on the need to have more technical and technological means of exploring our minerals, specifically the lithium discovered by the fully Ghanaian owned AkosDwomo company limited.

“Remember Lithium is one of the recent critical minerals and we need more technical information and technology to assist with exploration work plan. This way we can curb unemployment in Ghana and as well develop our mining regions”, he noted movementtvonline
