PSG and Bayern Munich Dominate in Club World Cup Openers with 4-0 and 10-0 Victories

In a stunning display of football, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Bayern Munich both secured emphatic victories in their opening matches of the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday.

PSG Overwhelms Atletico Madrid

PSG kicked off their campaign with a convincing 4-0 win against Atletico Madrid at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in Los Angeles. Goals from Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Senny Mayulu, and Lee Kang-In showcased the French giants’ attacking prowess and delighted a crowd of 80,619.

The match began with PSG establishing control early on, with Ruiz scoring the opener in the 19th minute after a precise setup from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Despite Atletico’s attempts to respond, including a disallowed goal by Julian Alvarez early in the second half, they struggled to create significant chances.

PSG capitalized on Atletico’s frustrations, with Mayulu scoring late in the game and Lee converting a penalty in injury time to seal the rout. The victory sets a strong tone for PSG as they prepare to face Brazil’s Botafogo in their next group match.

Bayern Munich exhibited their superiority with a staggering 10-0 victory over Auckland City in Cincinnati. Jamal Musiala came off the bench to score a second-half hat-trick, while Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise, and Thomas Mueller each netted twice.

Bayern quickly asserted their dominance, with Coman opening the scoring within six minutes. The German champions continued to pile on the goals, with Olise’s curling shot just before halftime putting them up 6-0.

Musiala’s entrance in the second half further tilted the match in Bayern’s favor, as he scored three times, including a penalty. Mueller capped off the rout with his 250th goal for the club, reinforcing Bayern’s status as one of the tournament favorites.

Bayern now looks ahead to their next match against Boca Juniors, while Auckland City prepares to face Benfica, reflecting on the challenges of competing against one of the world’s best teams.
