Guinness Ghana leads equities in value and volume traded

Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC. (GGBL) at the end of trading session on Monday emerged as the most traded stock on the bourse leading all equities in value and volume traded.

Shares of GGBL accounted for 79.56% (GHS 3.3m) of the total value traded. The total volume traded of the equity was 1,500,000.

Following GGBL as the next most traded stock on Monday, was Access Bank with value and volume trades of GHS 825,688 and 434,573 respectively.

PBC, GOIL and ETI stocks emerged the third, fourth and fifth most traded equities on the bourse on Monday respectively.

The two gainers were GGBL with GHS 0.10 gain to close at GHS 2.22 representing a YTD gain of 23.33% and Ecobank Transnational  Inc. (ETI) gaining GHS 0.01 to close at GHS 0.16 representing a YTD gain of 14.29% as this pushed market capitalization to GHS 63.98 billion. 

The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) gained 10.12 points to  close at 2,754.37 on the day representing a YTD return of -1.25%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also improved its level as it gained 13.05 points to close trading at 2,154.82 translating into a YTD return of 0.14%.

A total of 1,979,008 shares valued at GH¢4,184,532.20 were traded compared to 953,820 shares valued at GH¢1,389,780.12 which changed hands on Friday, March 11, 2022.
