Republic Bank Strengthens Partnership with GUTA as Platinum Sponsor of 2025 GUTA Forum in Accra

Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC proudly partnered with the Ghana Union of  Traders’ Association (GUTA) as the Platinum Sponsor of the recently concluded 2025 GUTA Forum held in  Accra under the theme ‘Unity in Diversity: Fostering Collaboration for Effective Advocacy’ in Accra.

This collaboration reinforces Republic Bank’s commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises  (SMEs), a key pillar of the Bank’s five-year strategic plan, while further strengthening the long-standing and cherished relationship with GUTA.

Representing Republic Bank at the forum was the SME Unit, led by Mr. Anthony Buagbe, the Manager,  who stood in for Mr. Benjamin Dzoboku, Managing Director of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC. Mr. Buagbe emphasized the Bank’s dedication to fostering a stronger partnership with GUTA.

“Our cherished relationship with GUTA is one we deeply value, and we are committed to strengthening this bond to deliver impactful solutions for traders and SME businesses across Ghana,” Mr. Buagbe stated. He highlighted several key initiatives that reflect the Bank’s tailored approach to supporting GUTA members and the wider SME and MSME community.

Beyond financial support, Republic Bank pledged its commitment to empowering SMEs with non-financial resources to ensure their growth and sustainability. These efforts include but are not limited to the  Republic Bank recently launched “THRIVE” initiative in partnership with the Caribbean Export Development Agency, aimed at equipping traders with the knowledge and networks needed to succeed in a competitive market.

“Our focus is not just on financing but also on offering holistic support that drives long-term success. The THRIVE initiative has so far paved the way for over 500 SMEs in Ghana and the  Caribbean to gain insights into how to make their businesses flourish,” Mr. Buagbe added.
