Republic Bank to become best customer service oriented bank through use of innovative digital products

Managing Director of Republic Bank Ghana, Benjamin Dzoboku, has shared his vision of transforming Republic Bank into an excellent customer service oriented bank.

Making the disclosure in an exclusive interview with norvanreports, Mr Dzoboku quipped his goal of making Republic Bank the most customer-centric bank in the country, will be through the use of innovative digital products and services for customers.

Providing quality customer service is important in the banking industry because it makes customers feel valued, helps banks meet the needs of customers more effectively and improves overall customer retention.

To achieve this goal, Mr Dzoboku admits that the capacity and skills set of staff of the bank would have to be enhanced.

“During my tenure, we will be working towards becoming an excellent customer service oriented bank through the use of innovative digital products and services and this can only be done by having people who are all-round bankers. And you are only able to get all-round bankers by building their capacity and enhancing their skills set,” he said.

Mr Dzoboku is of the view that, building the capacity and skills set of staff is critical to achieving his goal and vision for the bank which include moving the bank to Tier 1 from its current Tier 4 position as well as making Republic Bank Ghana the most profitable subsidiary of Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL).

Regarding the use of innovative digital products and services, the bank has to its credit a suite of digital financial services which include the bank’s first Mobile App and improved USSD and internet banking platform.

The digital suite services comprise the RepublicMobile Ghana which can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store, Republic USSD *414# Application is available by dialing *414# and the internet Banking platform, RepublicOnline which is accessible on the Website of the Bank, www.republicghana.com.

In addition to that, the bank has made a remarkable entry into the local credit card industry with the launch of four credit cards.

The four credit cards are the Republic Bank Visa Business, Republic Bank Visa Infinite, Republic Bank Visa Classic and Republic Bank Visa Adeshie.

Together, the four credit cards form the Republic Bank’s “Fantastic Four.”

The Fantastic Four credit cards offered by Republic Bank feature a revolving credit facility with a three year tenor, and interest rate charged on outstanding balance is 3%.

Asked what kind of legacy he would want to leave behind by norvanreports’ Norvan Acquah-Hayford, Mr Dzoboku averred, “The legacy I want to leave behind is a well-trained staff with excellent skills set and capacity, I want to develop my people to be able to  push for and build a Republic Africa and they (staff) will be the legacy I want to leave behind.”
