FIFA Reports Over 1.5 Million Ticket Applications for 2026 World Cup in Just 24 Hours

FIFA has announced an unprecedented response to the presale draw for the 2026 World Cup, receiving over 1.5 million ticket applications from fans across 210 countries within just 24 hours. This overwhelming demand underscores the tournament’s global appeal, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The majority of applications came from North America, particularly the host countries, followed closely by fans from Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, England, Spain, Portugal, and Germany. The enthusiasm for the expanded 48-team tournament, which will feature 104 matches in 16 host cities, is a testament to the growing interest in international soccer.

FIFA’s ticket draw is open until September 19 at 11:00 ET (17:00 CET), and fans are assured that the timing of their application will not impact their chances of securing tickets. Successful applicants will receive notification via email starting September 29, with designated time slots for purchasing tickets beginning October 1.

Ticket prices will start at $60, but a dynamic pricing model will be implemented during the initial sales phase, meaning prices may vary based on market demand. Additional phases for ticket sales are scheduled to commence in October, promising further opportunities for fans eager to witness this historic event.
