GSE-CI closes flat to post YTD returns of -12.22%

GSE-CI closes flat to post YTD returns of -12.22%

The Ghana Stock Exchange Composite Index (GSE-CI) did not  record any change to close at 2,448.53 points representing a  YTD return of -12.22%.

The GSE-FSI also maintained its level to close at 2,069.89 points, representing a YTD return of-3.81%. 

A total of 18,095 shares were traded among fourteen (14)  equities ending with one gainer.

NewGold(GLD)the sole gainer, advanced by GH¢17.80 to close trading at GH¢255.00.

Market capitalization for the day, increased by GH¢51.62 million to settle at GH¢64.66 billion.

Total volume and value traded on Thursday, decreased by 89.09% and 97.86% respectively compared to the previous trading day.

Scancom  PLC(MTNGH) accounted for 71.89% of the total value traded whilst NewGold (GLD) accounted for 90.32% of the total value  traded.

Summary of market activities for October

Activities on the market saw a reduction in volume and an  increase in value and transactions over the same period last year.

Volume traded was 21,344,190 down 55.27% compared to  September 2022.

These trades were valued at GH¢150,057,248.32,  up 188.61% compared to September 2022.

The GSE equity market closed the month with the Composite Index and Financial Stock  Index recording returns of -11.80% and -3.81% respectively.
