Road to Super Clash: Asante Kotoko aiming for a 100% win reocrd over Accra based clubs

Asante Kotoko will be hoping to add their eternal rivals Hearts of Oak to their list of victims for their 100% win record over Accra based clubs.

Asante Kotoko trashed Accra Lions just last week and that see them open a 12 points gap between them and the defending champions Hearts of Oak at the half way point.

So far, the league leaders have recorded an impressive 100% record against Accra based teams with a cumulated 7-2 score line.

Asante Kotoko have already played three Accra based clubs with Legon Cities, Great Olympics and Accra Lions all falling victims.

On Matchday 9, the Porcupines got a well deserved 2-1 win over Legon Cities FC away from home after Franck Mbella’s brace ensured they returned to Kumasi with all three points.

Another Franck Mbella brace proved vital as Kotoko cruised pass Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Matchday 15.

The league leaders once again smashed Accra Lions in a dominant 3-1 thanks to another hatrick from Cameroonian target man Frank Mbella Etouga at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Matchday 17.

With Mbella’s 11 goals from 10 starts, the Cameroonian can equal last season’s league record of 12 goals at the half way point if he scores against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

The recent outings of the Super clash has failed to present a lot of goals but fans will be hoping to witness an improved performance from both teams as the big day draws nigh, especially with Mbella’s proven track record of scoring against Accra based clubs.
