Salah Getting Closer to New Liverpool Deal: Reports
Liverpool are reportedly making significant strides in negotiations for a new contract with star forward Mohamed Salah, raising hopes that the prolific Egyptian will remain at Anfield next season. The 32-year-old is currently in the final months of his contract, alongside teammates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Salah’s contract situation has attracted attention, especially with Alexander-Arnold linked to a potential free transfer to Real Madrid. However, following Liverpool’s recent 3-2 loss to Fulham, Van Dijk confirmed that discussions regarding his own contract—and by extension, Salah’s—are actively progressing.
While no formal agreement has been finalized, there is growing optimism within the club that both Salah and Van Dijk will extend their stays. Salah, who leads the Premier League with 27 goals this season, has made a remarkable impact since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, scoring 243 goals in 394 appearances.
The Egyptian forward has not only helped secure a Champions League title but also played a crucial role in ending Liverpool’s 30-year wait for a league title in 2020, contributing to a total of eight trophies during his tenure.
Despite speculation linking him to lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, Salah has consistently expressed his desire to continue with Liverpool. In November, he hinted at uncertainty regarding his future but later clarified that he remains committed to the club.
