NTCA 2025: Ghana Charts AI-Driven Future as Industry Leaders Honoured for Digital Innovation
The 7th edition of the National Technology & Communications Awards (NTCA 2025) was held in Accra on Friday, November 7, 2025, celebrating outstanding achievements and innovations in Ghana’s technology, communications, and digital transformation landscape. The prestigious event, organised by RADComm Group, brought together key industry stakeholders, policymakers, and innovators under the theme “AI-Powered Future: Innovation, Transformation, and Impact in Ghana’s Digital Economy.”
Delivering the keynote address, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, underscored the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping Ghana’s future. “We stand here today at the dawn of a revolution, AI once confined to science fiction, has now become a core driver of decisions in boardrooms, classrooms, and marketplaces. Ghana’s future must be one where technology serves humanity and where intelligence, both artificial and human, work hand in hand to build an inclusive, competitive, and sustainable digital economy,” she said.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to building a digitally inclusive society, Ms. Bampoe Addo outlined several initiatives under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, including the One Million Coders Programme, launched in April 2025 to train one million Ghanaians in digital skills, coding, cybersecurity, and AI. She also mentioned partnerships with Cisco Systems to provide certification pathways in AI, cloud computing, and data science, as well as collaborations with TikTok to empower content creators through monetization and platform engagement opportunities.
According to her, Ghana’s newly launched National AI Strategy anchored on data as an asset, infrastructure, talent development, and governance will position the country as a hub of innovation and technological advancement on the continent. “The future belongs to those who prepare for it,” she remarked, urging the youth to embrace technology and AI as tools for practical transformation in every sector of the economy.
Chairman of the NTCA, Ebo Richardson, also emphasized the importance of embracing emerging technologies to ensure Ghana’s competitiveness. “Those individuals, organizations, and nations who deliberately adopt, develop, and maximize digital technologies are those who will dominate the future,” he said, adding that the NTCA serves as a platform to recognize pioneers driving Ghana’s digital transformation.
Speaking to NorvanReports on the sidelines of the event, Richmond Damoah, Chief Executive Officer of RADComm Group, said the NTCA platform has evolved into a national movement championing AI innovation and practical technology solutions. “We are creating a platform that drives conversations around tangible AI solutions to solve real problems such as illegal mining, agriculture, and energy challenges,” he stated, stressing the need for collaboration with global innovators to build local AI-driven solutions.
The NTCA 2025 also saw several corporate entities and individuals honoured for excellence in technology and innovation, with Ghana Link Network Services Limited, operators of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), emerging one of the biggest winners of the night with six awards across multiple categories.
