South African Airways to announce GSA for Ghana market on October 31

A new GSA for South African Airways in Ghana is to be announced by October 31, to give verve to the airline’s quest to re-establish itself as a key player in the market.

The General Sales Agent (GSA)  is a sales representative for an airline in a specific country or region. It allows an airline to have a sales presence in Ghana at a lower cost than opening their own offices.

Sources say Satguru Travels and Sunseekers-which is the GSA for Asky, and represents APG in Ghana– are some of the main candidates.

There is currently no direct flight between Ghana and South Africa. Passengers have had to use alternative flights; either connecting via Lomé on Asky, Kigali on RwandAir, Addis Ababa on Ethiopian, and other routes.

SAA’s profitable Accra-Washington DC -Accra route is also now serviced by United Airlines.
