Spanish born Ghanaian Nico Williams gets his maiden senior call-up into the Spanish national team

Spanish-born Ghanaian, Nico William has earned his maiden call-up into Luis Enrique’s 25-man team for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Switzerland and Portugal in late September 2022.

The 20-year-old follows in the footsteps of his older brother, Iñaki, who played once for La Roja in 2016; but decided to switch allegiance to Ghana two and a half months ago.

The Athletic Bilbao winger played a great game against Elche in his last game, where he scored a good goal and win a penalty.

Nico Williams joins an offensive Spanish National Team line up which has Sarabia, Marco Asensio, Morata, Borja Iglesias Yéremy Pino, and Ferrán Torres.

Barcelona’s Ansu Fati and injured Raúl de Tomás of Rayo Vallecano miss out.

Nico debuted with Athletic Bilbao in April of last year against Valladolid and in less than a year and a half he is looking forward to his first bite of the cherry with the National Team.
