Black Stars Set for Four-Nation Tournament in June 2025, Says Dr. Randy Abbey
The Black Stars of Ghana are gearing up for an exciting opportunity as they prepare to participate in a four-nation international tournament during the next international break in June 2025. This announcement was made by Dr. Randy Abbey, the Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, who emphasized the importance of this tournament for the team’s ongoing development.
Following a successful March window where the Black Stars secured six points in their 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, the team now sits atop Group I. The upcoming tournament is seen as a crucial chance for the technical staff to continue rebuilding and refining the squad.
Dr. Abbey explained, “Fortunately, the technical team and management will have the opportunity to further work on the team because, in June, we don’t have qualifiers. We will be playing a four-nation friendly in England, and I am sure that it will be an opportunity for the coaches to do some further work on the team.”
He also expressed optimism about the return of injured players, stating, “We are hoping that some of the players who are injured will also be back and will be able to get an opportunity to play at least two games before the September matches.”
This tournament will not only serve as a platform for tactical adjustments but also as a vital preparation phase ahead of Ghana’s next competitive fixtures in September.
