Standard Chartered appoints new Executive Director

Standard Chartered Bank announces for the information of the general investing public, the appointment of  Mr. Xorse Augustine Godzi as an Executive Director of Standard Chartered Bank PLC. 

His appointment took effect from January 2, 2024. 

Xorse Augustine Godzi is currently the Head of Client Coverage, Corporate, Commercial and institutional Banking (CCIB) of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC (SCB Ghana) and oversees Client Coverage for West Africa excluding Nigeria. He has diverse and extensive experience in corporate and institutional banking across multiple geographies in Europe and Africa spanning over twenty (20) years.  

Xorse joined Standard Chartered Bank Ghana in 2002 and has worked in various roles across the Standard Chartered Bank Group. He worked in Standard Chartered London between 2006  and 2010 as Director, Global Corporates. Between 2010 and 2013, he was the Head of the Commodities Traders and Agribusiness and International Corporates segments in Standard Chartered Bank Ghana.  

From 2013 through to 2016, Xorse relocated to Standard Chartered Bank South Africa where he was Head, Commodities Traders and Agribusiness for Africa. He served as the Head, International Corporates & Financial Institutions businesses and Head Commercial Banking in  Standard Chartered Bank Ghana from 2017 until 2020 when the Bank merged its Global Banking  and Commercial Banking businesses into Client Coverage, CCIB.  

Xorse has in-depth knowledge of key industry sectors in Africa spanning across mining, energy,  manufacturing, agriculture, financial services, real estate amongst others. He is experienced in providing sustainable solutions to clients and managing client relationships across multinational,  regional, local, and public sector client segments.

Xorse holds a BSc. Administration (Accounting) degree from the University of Ghana, Legon and is an affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).  

Xorse is passionate about giving back to society and is a member of the Rotary Club of Accra  Sunrise which supports special needs education and maternal health delivery issues amongst others.
