Stock market falls by 36.07 points on Tuesday; records -11.73% YTD returns

Benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) lost 36.07 points to close trading at 2,462.08 points  translating into a YTD return of-11.73%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE FSI) on the other hand maintained its value to close trading at 2,073.65 points, translating into a YTD return of -3.63%. 

Thirteen equities traded on Tuesday, ending with two decliners. The worst performers of the day were Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) and  Scancom PLC. (MTNGH).

GOIL lost GH¢0.02 whilst MTNGH lost GH¢0.03to  close trading at GH¢1.77 and GH¢0.88 respectively.

Hence, market capitalization of the GSE for the day settled at GHS 64.01 billion.

Meanwhile, a total of 12,884,929 shares valued at GH¢11,705,927.80 were traded on Tuesday.

Compared with the previous GSE trading day (September 27), Tuesday’s  data shows a 21,595.09% increase in volume traded and a 12,331.47% increase in trade turnover.

Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) accounted for 92.24% of the  total value traded and recorded the most volumes traded on the GSE.
