Stock market gains 85 points as capitalization increase to GHS 64bn

The benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock  Exchange (GSE) inched up by 85.72 points to close trading at 2,525.34 points representing a YTD return of -9.46%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also increased by 1.39 points to close trading at 2,115.91 points  translating into a YTD return of -1.67%. 

Nineteen equities traded, ending with two gainers namely Scancom (MTNGH) and Trust Bank Gambia Limited (TBL) gaining GH¢0.08 and GH¢0.04 to close trading at GH¢0.91 and GH¢0.48 respectively.

Market capitalization of the GSE for the day settled at GH¢ 64.46 billion. 

A total of 70,410 shares valued at GH¢60,933.83 was traded on the day. Compared with the previous GSE trading day(July 26), Wednesday’s data shows a 27.72% decline in volume traded and 4.22% improvement in trade turnover.
